The panel proposes a discussion on the Sustainable Development Goals, the link to peace and disarmament campaigning, and the implications for implementation.
General questions:
- Is the UN Agenda 2030 an adequate response to the main challenges we face?
- What are the major obstacles to achieving the SDGs?
- How best to persuade governments to make reductions in military spending in order to carry out their commitments to the SDGs, e.g. 10% of the military budget per year per country over the 15 years of Agenda 2030?
- How can civil society help ensure that SDG 16 is taken into account in the deliberations of the UN’s High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development?
